Hike the Spiller's Cove Trail in Twillingate

Twillingate, also known as the land of icebergs, has a great collection of short to medium length trails. One of my favourite ones to hike is the Spiller's Cove Trail which is located on the eastern part of the island.

Ok, so that is all of the non-fog photos for this post. When we actually did this hike recently (Canada Day, 2017), and recorded the track for this blog and took over 200 photos, the weather was a bit more on the cooler side (4 degrees Celcius) and visibility was a lot lower, thanks to the fog.  It was still beautiful, but in a different, almost mystical, kind of way. Check out the photos below of this excellent 3 km hike.

Mystical.

Some parts of the trail need maintenance.

Decent trail map, missing are a scale and North arrow.

The beach at Spiller's Cove is nice, but rocky. To get to this a really bad set of stairs had to be walked over. The hill on the right provided a nice view of the cove and icebergs.

These crows are very used to humans, this was taken with my smartphone (Nexus 6p).

Such a great view from the hill.

The walk out was over marshes with some nice ponds; the only complaint is that some of the boardwalk was replaced but the old stuff was just thrown alongside of it.
